Benue South Re-run; Between Abounu And The Power Of His Polling Booth

BETWEEN ABOUNU AND THE POWER OF HIS POLLING BOOTH:
The Deputy Governor of Benue State, HE, Engr. Abounu had strictly warned the former President of the Senate, Senator David Mark to withdraw from the impending Benue South senatorial rerun election or face imminent humiliation. He also affirmed the basis of his call on an earlier advise by Senator Mark that the Idomas should as much as clinically possible not be in the opposition. This call and guide is not at all laughable . It is a very serious pursuit. Now let us declassify the Abounu political satire in a completely guided form.
First , in Benue South Senatorial district , the PDP is not in the opposition. We voted PDP in all the elections because it is the party that gave us all we have. We won the senatorial election in Benue South Senatorial district. The PDP delivered all four House of Representatives’ seats in Zone C. We won 10 out of the11 House of Assembly seats in Zone C. Can this party be called the opposition in Zone C? It is Abounu who is clearly in the opposition in Zone C.
Again, Abounu could not even deliver his village to the APC in the last elections . Yet PDP that swallowed him to his pulse would be humiliated.
The QUESTIONS:
Even as a sitting Deputy Governor can Abounu deliver Otukpo’Icho his village?
If Abounu the new spokesman and ‘defacto leader’ of the Idoma people and her interests did not raise a finger upon our deprivation of the SSG to Zone B where the Governor is from for fear of being denied his 50 million naria monthly security vote and 20 million per trip to Abuja, is it the deflection of the Idoma interest that will matter to him? We can understand Abounu’s desperation in self preservation .Perhaps he had been in economic cold for too long.
We understand that the current position has also helped Abounu to regain his manhood in his immediate family, for he had lost it to the secure economic pedigree of a rampaging judge wife. Man! Welcome back. Protect your grab.
Abounu must sing this song, for it guarantees the offloading of his yams.
What did Abounu do when all state positions held by Zone C where reversed? Is this the kind of majority that Abounu wishes the Idoma?
As a Deputy Governor, even though this advice will not be heeded, Abounu should forget immediate economic beats and look straight in his boss’s face and tell him that after this duty call, like Ogiri Ajene and Steve Lawani before me, I will go back to my people and show them a score sheet. The sheet would not only carry my new properties , it would be required to have the projects I attracted home. The people from all over Idoma that I empowered , not only from my Ai’Ogwuche clan as it stands now. It would also include in the very perceptive psychological note, how I defended my people in the face of injustices and governmental inclusiveness. My money may not matter then.
Abounu, the elections will come. But please, you are now the Deputy Governor of Benue State and decorum deserves that you don’t beat up Mrs Abeje Egwa , the PDP state women leader again in order to win your polling unit.
