Akpabio praises Buhari, blasts APC and declares PDP winner of Akwa Ibom 2019 Elections

The former Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Senator Godswill Akpabio at a rally held in his honour by the people of his Ikot Ekpene Senatorial district said that President Muhammadu Buhari should be commended for allowing the Supreme Court a conducive judicial atmosphere for the the discharge of its duties. He said the determination of President Buhari not to interfere with the judicial process was a big plus for the administration.

Akpabio also took a swipe at the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the state over its loss at the Supreme Court arguing that the party in its court litigations ‘demanded judgment instead of justice which is the basic right of citizens.’

He commended the judiciary for its forthrightness in defending the mandate of the people

The former Governor also declared that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will produce the next governor of the state in 2019. Akpabio said;  “When I came to you in 2006, I told you God’s will should be done and you the people of Akwa Ibom agreed with me and it was done. In 2011, I said God’s will should be done again, you agreed with me and it was done. In 2015, I pleaded with you to allow God’s will to be done again and again, you all made it happen. I will come back to you in 2019 and demand that God’s will should be done again and I know it will happen”

Akpabio noted that the turbulent days of political warfare in Akwa Ibom State had been brought to rest, and urged the people of Ikot Ekpene senatorial district to support the government of Udom Emmanuel in the state to ensure continuity and the attendant uncommon transformation.
