Benue state govt. declare Thursday 4th as public holiday

The Benue State Executive Council has declared Thursday, February 4, 2016 as public holiday, to enable civil servants attend the funeral of the late Tor Tiv 1V, Orchivirigh Dr. Alfred Torkula, in Gboko.

The declaration was among the resolutions taken at the first meeting of the council in 2016, presided over by Governor Samuel Ortom.
In the same vein, the celebration of the states fortieth anniversary earlier slated for Wednesday, February 3, 2016, was shifted forward on account of the death and funeral of the late Tor Tiv. A new date will be announced later.
