Security Operatives defuse IEDs planted near ‘Mama Put’ Restaurant in Borno 

A joint team of security operatives on Friday defused Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) planted around a popular Mama Put restaurant around the Circular Junction of Damboa road by suspected Boko Haram terrorists.

An eye witness, Modu Kur Kafama, who confirmed the incident, said that the bomb was planted in a bag close to the a restaurant where a lot of people normally gather to buy food. According to him it was an access road for several Muslim worshippers to a nearby mosque.

Kafama said that the bomb believed to have been planted overnight was discovered by a military personnel who came to eat lunch at the ‘Mama Put’ restaurant.

The personnel, it was gathered, immediately raised an alarm prompting motorists and pedestrians, mostly Muslim worshippers who were already heading for the nearby Friday Juma’at mosque to turn back.

It will be recalled that security operatives had defused an IED planted near the surrounding of Borno State Pilgrims Board office a fortnight ago.
