The implementation of campaign promises by the present administration of President Muhammadu Buhari, will commence after the passage of 2016 budget into law.
This was stated on wednesday by the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, during the inauguration of Ota township roads in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area in commemoration of the 40th anniversary of the state.
According to the VP, the federal government had put into consideration the plight of the unemployed youths, artisans, market men and women in the budget.
Osinbajo, also noted that “the cornerstone of this administration is unemployment and job creation for the teeming youths”.
The vice-president, however, disclosed that government would train 500,000 volunteer teachers to boost educational development in the country.
“Our administration will fulfil its campaign promises with massive employment generation as the cornerstone.
“These promises would commence as soon as the 2016 budget is passed to law. We will train 500,000 volunteer teachers to boost the nation’s educational system.
“We also have plans for our women, youths and artisans. Government will establish skill acquisition training for graduates to equip them for gainful employment while market women will be given soft loans to boost their businesses.” Osinbajo stated.
Speaking, Ogun state governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, said his administration would continue to rehabilitate federal roads in the state for all round development.
Amosun said, ”Our government will not relent in its rebuilding mission by extending its all round development to all federal roads in the state, as well as fixing all dilapidated roads”.
Earlier, the vice-president had inaugurated Ayetoro township roads in Yewa North local government area of the state.
