The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Ibe Kachikwu, on Wednesday has hailed Nigerians “for their unbelievable level of patience” over the enduring fuel scarcity faced by the country.
The Minister however promised that fuel will be available in every part of the country by the end of next week.
Kachikwu who spoke with State House correspondents after the Federal Executive Council meeting on Wednesday said that the output from the refineries will support the fuel demands of Nigerians.
The Minister who had earlier promised to end the scarcity by April 7 blamed sabotage for the persistent queues at filling stations across the country.
“As at today (yesterday), we are delivering about 1,200 trucks, by weekend, we should be delivering same number of trucks…I hope by the end of next week, with the refineries helping us to stay on course, every part of the country will get fuel,” he said.
He said the government had asked the Department of Petroleum Resources to deploy officials “to ensure that products are sold at the right prices because it is only through price stabilization that systemic queues will disappear.
